REGULATIONS FOR THE CALL FOR PROJECTS

ROQUETTE FOUNDATION FOR HEALTH AND DECATHLON FOUNDATION

Context

Nutrition and physical activity are two key factors for protecting and preventing health. A varied and balanced nutrition, combined with regular daily physical activity, contributes to good physical health (reduction weight gain, improvement of sleep quality, strengthening of the cardiovascular system, preservation of bone mass, reduction of cancer risk, etc.) and mental health (fight against stress, anxiety, depression, etc.).

Considering these findings, the Roquette Foundation for Health, under the aegis of the Foundation of France, and the Decathlon Foundation have decided to join forces to launch a joint call for projects on the theme “Sports and Nutrition for Good Health.”

Article 1 – Purpose of the Call for Projects

The Foundations will support projects aimed at enabling any beneficiary in a situation of vulnerability (precariousness, disability, disadvantaged neighborhoods, illnesses, etc.) to achieve better long-term health through healthy nutrition and suitable physical activity. Sports and nutrition play a crucial role in health prevention and are inseparable.

The projects must be long-term and demonstrate a strategy of sustainable actions, with the aim of maximizing the social impact of the actions.

They must be implemented in one of the following three countries: France, India, or Brazil.

Article 2 – Amount Allocated during This Call for Projects

The project funding is set at €150,000, which will be distributed among the three countries.

The amounts allocated to the selected projects may vary depending on their needs and the decisions of the jury members.

Article 3 – Eligibility

The call for projects targets non-profit organizations (NGOs, associations, foundations, etc.). Financial requests must cover expenses related to sports (sports equipment, sports facilities, supplies, staff, etc.), and expenses related to healthier nutrition (purchase of food items, personnel expenses (dietitian, nutritionist, etc.)). Requests for operational expenses not related to the project are excluded.

The main objective of the projects will be to demonstrate that sports and nutrition play a crucial role in health prevention and are inseparable.

The project must start within 12 months following the grant payment.

Article 4 – Application File

The project presentation files must be fully completed before Wednesday, May 22, 2024, midnight (Europe/Paris time zone) on the Talents Games website (https://talentgames.decathlon.com/fr/challenges/challenge-fondation-decathlonxroquette-2024?lang=fr) paired with the documents listed on the platform.

The project leader confirms, under their own responsibility, the accuracy of all information provided in the documentation submitted.

Participation in this call for projects implies the straightforward acceptance of the current regulations in their entirety.

Article 5 Selection of Applications

The applications will be reviewed by the organizing team, consisting of specialists in the theme of this call for projects, who will provide feedback to the final jury. The jury, responsible for the final decision, will consist of the General Delegate of Decathlon Foundation and the General Delegate of the Roquette Foundation for Health, as well as one employee from each company and an expert designated by each Foundation, totaling six people.

The projects selected by the final jury will then be presented to the Boards of Directors of the Roquette Foundation and the Decathlon Foundation for information and validation.

The juries will particularly consider the following:

  • The relevance of the project regarding its crucial role in health prevention, sports, and nutrition;
  • The feasibility of the project in the local area, as well as the tools and resources implemented;
  • The ability to propose relevant solutions for a specific area;
  • The project's impact on beneficiaries and the ecosystem;
  • The proposal and implementation of means to evaluate the success of the project;
  • The durability of the project over time and its potential replication in other areas.

The project leader commits, in case of grant approval, to:

  1. Sign (after approval from all four parties) a quadripartite partnership agreement between the project leader, Decathlon Foundation, Roquette Foundation for Health, and the Fondation de France, upon publication of the results;
  2. Begin implementation of the project and allocate the received grant exclusively for the project's realization within 12 months following the signing of the agreement;
  3. Authorize inspections by at least one of the two Foundations (Decathlon or Roquette) to verify the regular implementation of the project throughout its duration;
  4. Provide two progress reports (after six months and upon conclusion of the project) as well as invoices for purchases related to the project within one month following the purchases;
  5. Notify in writing (via email or mail) the Roquette Foundation and Decathlon Foundation in case of project impossibility (in such cases, the allocated funds must be returned to both Foundations) immediately upon the decision of cancellation.
